Sandringham Athletic Club was represented by 15 Victorian team selections at the 2026 Australian Athletics Cross Country Championships in Ballarat, four of them junior athletes, with eight further verified Sandy members competing individually — 23 Sandringham athletes across the weekend in total.

This is a Sandringham Athletic Club report only. It excludes the separate Little Athletics Victoria team and any athlete whose current senior-club affiliation could not be verified.
We reconciled Athletics Victoria’s official Team Victoria selection list and Australian Athletics’ published results against 2026 XCR records that identify athletes as Sandringham. That produces a clear, auditable club list rather than a broader “Sandy-linked” list.
15 Victorian team selections · 8 additional verified Sandy entrants · 23 Sandringham athletes in total
Race report
The standout result belonged to Reece Langdon, Sandringham’s T38 Australian and world record holder over 1500m and 5000m: he won the Para 3km outright in 10:49, racing for Victoria’s Para team — the best individual result by a Sandy athlete all weekend. Saskia Lloyd led the Sandy Open women home in sixth, clocking 40:47 for 10km. Logan Janetzki matched that for the men, also sixth, in 33:23 — the fastest Sandy men’s run of the weekend — with Callen Goldsmith 21st in 34:48. Orla Shackcloth placed 12th in the Under 20 women’s 6km (25:43).

Among the Sandy members who entered individually: Meg Oakley Kerr finished 28th in the Open women’s 10km (44:47), while Hamish Donohue (27th, 35:18) and Tom Davoren (30th, 35:30) ran the Open men’s 10km. In the junior ranks, Linus Hunter was 52nd in the Under 16 men’s 4km (16:07) and Elliot Hunter 70th in the Under 14 men’s 3km (13:18).
Two more Sandy runners, one name corrected
When this report was first published, two Sandringham athletes were missing from it. The national results do not publish club affiliations, and neither name could be matched at the time. The club confirmed both directly: Gabby Vincent, and a runner given to us as “Rhys Langdon”. Matching that second name against the official results and the club’s own 2026 relay-team and club-records lists found no Rhys Langdon at Ballarat — but it did find Reece Langdon, a current Sandy member and the club’s T38 Australian and world record holder, who won the Para 3km for Victoria. The two are now understood to be the same person, and his result has been added under his correct name.

Team list corrected, three more selections found
The Victorian team count above originally covered Open, Under 20 and Para selections only. Cross-checking the full Team Victoria list against the club’s own membership register on 16 September 2026 turned up three current Sandringham juniors selected for the team: Elizabeth Craig (Under 17 women’s 4km) and Milla Malherbe and Sophie Arbaitman (both Under 16, 4km). Two more Sandringham juniors initially added alongside them, Linus Hunter and Elliot Hunter, turned out not to be part of the official Victorian team after all — the results platform tags every state-team finisher with their state and category, and neither carries one, meaning both raced at Ballarat as individual entries rather than as Victorian selections. Both are current Sandringham members and both results stand; only their status has changed, below.
The same reconciliation also turned up three Victorian team selections the original report missed entirely: Logan Janetzki, sixth in the Open men’s 10km in 33:23; Natalie Rule, who did not finish the Open women’s 10km; and Leo Reeve, who did not start the Para 3km.
Two more juniors added, 16 September
A further tip from a committee member, cross-checking two separate results sites, identified two more Sandringham juniors missing from this report. Harry McAllister, a current Sandringham member, was 30th in the Under 16 men’s 4km (15:22). His result on the official results platform carries a Victoria Under 16 state-team tag — the same marker used throughout this report to identify genuine Team Victoria selections — so he has been added as a team selection. That is despite Athletics Victoria’s own published team list not showing his name; the results platform is the more direct, live record of who actually raced for Victoria on the day, and this report treats it as authoritative. Alexander Saldanha was 13th in the Under 14 men’s 3km (11:25), with no state tag on his result, so he has been added as an individual entry.
Masters runner added, 26 September
We missed Mike Bryant from the original report. Mike, a current Sandringham runner and coach, raced the Masters 4km cross country at Ballarat and finished 58th in the mixed Masters race in 21:17. The official results list Masters as a mixed, multiple-age race; we are not treating 58th overall as an M50 category placing. His addition brings the verified Sandringham list in this report to 23 athletes. Thank you to those who pointed out omissions so that we could correct the record.

Sources and scope
See Athletics Victoria’s 2026 Victorian Cross Country Team and Australian Athletics’ official event results. The national results do not publish club affiliations, so Sandringham membership has been verified against current 2026 XCR club records and the club’s own relay-team and records lists, and where that reconciliation missed someone the club has confirmed them directly. Gabby Vincent and Reece Langdon were added this way on 16 September 2026. Their finishing places were matched to the official results on 16 September, which also corrected the second athlete’s name — given to us initially as “Rhys Langdon” — to Reece Langdon. Elizabeth Craig, Milla Malherbe and Sophie Arbaitman were found the same day as genuine Victorian team selections by checking the full Team Victoria junior categories against the club’s own membership register. On closer check on 16 September, Linus Hunter and Elliot Hunter — both confirmed current Sandringham members — turned out not to carry a state-team result tag on the official results platform, unlike genuine team selections, so both have been reclassified as individual entries rather than Victorian team selections. The same pass through the full Team Victoria list, cross-checked name-by-name against the club’s membership register, also found three further Sandringham selections the original report missed: Logan Janetzki, Natalie Rule and Leo Reeve. All were matched directly against the official event results. A further check on 16 September, prompted by a committee member’s own cross-check of two results sites, added Harry McAllister as a Victoria Under 16 team selection and Alexander Saldanha as an individual entry, after both results and McAllister’s state-team tag were matched on the official results platform. On 26 September, Mike Bryant’s Masters 4km result was added from the same official event results; his current Sandringham affiliation is also documented in the club’s 2026 XCR reports.
