The club is holding a working bee from 10am this Sunday, 20 September, at the track on Glamis Avenue, Hampton. Come for the whole morning or for half an hour — every pair of hands makes a difference, and the more of us who turn up, the quicker it is done.

Sunday 20 September  ·  from 10am  ·  Sandringham Athletic Club, Glamis Avenue, Hampton

What we are getting done

There is a clear list for the morning, so nobody arrives wondering where to start.

  • Club room clean up and clear out. A proper sort through of what stays and what goes.
  • Gym tidy. The gym will be in use throughout the morning, so it mostly needs a tidy and a clear out of anything that no longer belongs there.
  • Track tidy up and railings. A general tidy around the track, and repairs to as much of the railing as we can get through on the day.
  • Drains. Emptying the drains around the peak sections of the track before the summer season starts.
  • Rubbish removal. Shifting the rubbish from behind the rear green sheds.
  • Jumps pits. Digging up the jumps pits with the rotary hoe.

What to bring

Work gloves if you have a pair, and a rake, broom or wheelbarrow if you can spare one. Otherwise just turn up in clothes you do not mind getting dirty.
